LEONARD J. PICKERING A feeling of deepest. sorrow pass- ed over Sherbronke and surround- ing districts when it was learned that Leonard J. Pickering had passed away at the Prince County Hospital on June l9. 1946. The late Mr, Pickering would have celebrated his 67th birthday on June 20. having been born in 1879. at Sherbrooke. P-EI. He was the youngest son of the late Wil- liam and Caroline Tanton Picker- lng and was the last remaining member of their family of nine children. He became suddenly ill on June 8th. midnight and was rushed to the Prince County Hos- pital where an emergency oper- ation was performed which in it- selft proved to be uccessful up to within an hour before the end came, as if he would fully recover.
