December Fish Landings Total fish landings in Prince Edward Island for the month of Decembe decreased by 124,100 Pvillli-‘ll. with a cones, ding de- crease of $8.340 in landed vslue when compared with December. 1941. Mr. J J. Larabee, Supervisor of Fisheries stated yesterday. The total quantity of all fish landed in Prince Edward Island during the month was 292,400 pounds, with a landed value of $8.755. The smelt fishing in Prince Ed- ward Island waters has been very disappointing this season. The change of tides which, it. was hgfied might bring ii larger catch. i led to improve the situation. In Nova Scctia there wee a de- crease in the catch of 2,502,000 pounds in December although the laned value was up by $2.791. Fishermen ca lobsters. cod and hake along the Nova Scotia coast from Halifax to Digby in the month of December while Island fishermen are confined to smelt catches for their revenue. This ex- plains the increase in landed value in one Province and the decrease ln the other as the prices paid for lobsters. cod and hake have been exceptionally high last, month, Total ouantity of all fish landed’ in the Eastern Fisheries Division for the month of December was 11.381300 pounds with a landed value of $738406 which was a de- crease of 5.216.700 DOllllds with a corresponding decrease of $45,695 in landed value. when compared with December, 1941, i _ Cfficiai iiere To Discuss Truck Control Matters Mr. WJ-l.
