Every- one welcome. Moniagu:VAl. Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the Wom- en's Institute of Montague was held at the home of Mrs. Elsie watter- worth on Tuesday evening, Nov. 'lth. The meeting was conducted uy the retiring president, Mrs. Horace Fraser, and opened with the mem- bers repeating the Institute Ode There were twenty members pres- ent. The minutes of the last regu- lar meeting and the last annual meeting were read and approved. The financial report, showing a substantial sum in the bank, was read by the treasurer. Mrs, R.G. MacDonald. Mrs. Lester MacLeod reported that her committee had purchased one radio for the school and after much discussion it was moved and seconded that a second radio be piiri-hzised to replace one that is of no further use to the students. The same committee was appointed to attend to this matter. Several other items of business were brought before the meeting and discussed. Correspondence in- cluded a letter from Red Cross headquarters expressing their ap- preciation for the co-operation of the Institute by assisting with the recent X-ray units operation in Montague. In this letter it wait stated that one new case of tith- erculosis was found in this district. The committee also assisted at the successful Blood Donors Clinic in the Beaver Club Hall last week by donatliig their services in register- ing the donors, also in serving re- freshments. The late Mr. Maclnbcsh had re- sided with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mac- Pherson. Caledonia. for the past number of years. Largely attended funeral services were held at Val- leyfleld church on Monday with Rev. Mr. Role of F-a' d t in charge of the services, assisted by Rev, Mr. Fraser of Vallcyfield and the Church choir under the direc- tion of Mrs. William Bruce. Hymns sung were. "The Lord Is My Shep- herd", nnd "Abide With Me". The choir sang, "Shall We Gather At Theiniver", which was a favourite Jzymn of the deceased.
