3,000 Get Instruction In Water Safety In Queen's Queen’s County Red Cross wat- er safety service provided swim- ming and water safety instruct- ion for upwards of 3000 people of varying ages in 28 centres includ.‘ ing the 6 supervised areas in the National Parks. Stanhope Beach was one loca- tion where swimming classes proved a focal point of interest for hundreds of tourists. Local water safety committees sponsored this summer-time ed- ucational program in all these centres in co-operation with the Provincial Red Cross Water saf- ety Service. Douglas C‘udmore, Red Cross field supervisor test- ed the swimmers in most of the areas in Queens County, with Miss Joan Murphy and Malcolm Lodge, Red Cross field supervis- ors for Kings and Prince Coun— ties, doing the testing in some cases.
