It seems there is great confusion as to the point of Marlon Brando's refusal to ~appear on the Academy Awards to receive his Oscar. Many claim that he was being cheap, arrogant, and at best childish. But is this really the nature of the beast? In today's highly mobile (faster automobiles?) world principles are seen only in a utilitarian sense, i.e. only when they are useful to us for furthering our own interests.
