Act passed in the thirtieth year of the reign of Her present Majesty, chapter eighteen, intituled “ An Act relating to practice and pleading in the Supreme Court.” An Act to empower the Government of Prince Edward Island to expend the further sum of Thirty thousand pounds, in the purchase of lands in this Island. [Passed April 19, 1869.] E it enacted by the Administrator of the Government, Council and Assembly, that it shall and may be lawful for the Lieutenant Governor or other Administrator of the Gov- ernment of this Island, for the. time being, by and with the advice of Her Majesty’s Executive Council, any time, and from time to time after the passing of this Act, to purchase lands in this Island, to the amount of thirty thousand pounds of the lawful money of the said Island; and to pay for any lands so purchased, such price per acre, as the said Lieutenant Governor or other Administrator of the Government in Council may deem advisable, notwithstanding that such price shall exceed the price or sum per acre, as limited by, and mentioned in the Act of, the Sixteenth Victoria, Chapter eight ; and the said sum of thirty thousand pounds, shall be raised and procured, and payments made for any lands to be purchased hereunder, by De- bentures, as heretofore used by the Government of this Island, or by such securities, or in such other way or manner as the said Lieutenant Governor, or other Administrator of the Gov- ernment in Council, shall deem advisable; pro- vided, that such Debentures or other securities shall bear interest, at not exceeding the rate of six pounds per centum per annum. II. All lands purchased under the provisions of this Act, shall (except with regard to the price per acre to be paid therefor, and the manner of raising and procuring the said sum of thirty thousand pounds) be purchased, held, paid for, sold, transferred, and in all respects dealt with, and managed in the same way and manner as lands purchased under the provisions of the said recited Act, or any Act in amendment thereof, and as if the same (except as afore- said) were purchased thereunder.
