      1992
      Roberta
      Bondar,
      a
      physician

      her
      doctorate
      in
      Nuro
      Biology
      was
      the
      Ist
      Canadian
     
     
      women
      in
      space.
      The
      space
      shuttle
      Discovery
     
     
      launched
      last
      Wed.
      with
      the
      first
      science
      laboratory
      in
     
     
      space
      on
      board.
      Roberta
      will
      be
      working
      12
      hour
     
     
      shifts
      doing
      experiments
      in
      space,
      six
      of
      which
      are
     
     
      Canadian.
      The
      Canadian
      experiments
      have
      to
      so
      with
     
     
      space
      life
      sciences,
      seeing
      how
      humans
      adapt
      to
     
     
      space.
      The
      international
      space
      laboratory
      isseenasa
     
     
      ground
      breaker
      for
      the
      space
      station
      Freedom.
      The
     
     
      construction
      of
      the
      space
      station
      Freedom
      will
