HOLLOWA A BOON TO THE SICK! u The want of a sterling medicinal preparation to meet the many ‘ills that flesh is heir to,” and one entirely free from minerals and other deleterious particles, was severely felt till this all powerful medicine was ushered into the world. Hollo- way’s invaluable Pills have become the Household remedy ot all nations. ‘heir attribute is to prevent as well as to cure. hey attack the root of the complaint, aud thas by removing the hid- den cause of disease, re-invigorate and restore the drooping energies of the system, assisting nature 10 her task of vital and functionary reformation. INDIGESTION, The great scourge of this country, as well as of all hot cli- mates aad marshy districts, yields quickly to a course of these invaluable Pills, and the digestive organs are restored to their proper tone, and fevers of all kinds avoided. It matters not ip what shape this derangement exhibits itself, Holloway’s searching and unerring remedy expels it from the patient's system. 5 GENERAL DEBILITY, From whatever cause, Lowness of Spirits, and all other signs of a diseased liver, or of a general disorganiza:ion of the system, vanish under the eradicating influence of this powerful and most searching remedy, which in warm and relaxing climates act like a charm. FEMALES : : Should lose no time in trying a few doses of this regulating and renovating medicine, whatever may be their complaint. It can be taken with safety in all periodical and other disurgan- izations. Its effect is all but miraculous, either to young per- sons entering into womanhood, or to those at the turn of Iife. BILIOUS COMPLAINTS. Those who suffer from bile and ver complaints should try the effect of this valuable remedy, a few doses of which will make the sufferer fee! @lastit and vigorous, remove all impedi- ments, cleanse the blood from aj! impurities, give a healthy action to the liver, and strengthen the stomach: If bilious attacks be allowed to continue without using such a preventive, fever will arise, and the eufferer be confined to a bed of sick- ness. hese Pills are an extraordinary remedy in removing acidity from the stomach and correcting indigestion, especially in hot and swampy localities. A CERTAIN CURE FOR COUGHS AND COLDS. Tne cause of half the diseases to which humanity is liable is the mode of treating the human system when attacked with these disorders, which ofien lead ultimately to a fata! result. By persevering in the use of Holloway’s Pills, the most obstinate Kcold or cough is soon checked and cured ; for this medicine, by purifying thé blood, regulatittg Me éettetions, checking the de- praved humors, and encouraging & freé perspiration, rapidly puts he system into a sound and vigorous condition, thereby enabling it to throw off the disorder. ‘The cure 18 complete and perma- nent, particularly if Holloway’s Ointment be well rubbed into ihe chest and throat night and morning. COMPLAINTS INCIDENT TO CHILDREN. In no country in the world are more children carried to an early grave than in this. Cough, measles, scarlatina, fevers and similar diseases attack the little sufferers, and death but too often follows at a rapid pace; yet, if at the first stage of ihe complaints parents were to have recourse to Holloway’s Pills, all danger would be avoided ; for the stomach and bowels being gently but effectually cleansed by this mild aperient, the de- ‘praved humours corrected, and the secretions duly regulated, 6 perfect cure is soon effected, and the little patieut is restored }, t o sound health. . oe iuiioway’s Pills are the best remedy Known in (re world for the fol wt N B. " CARD. ‘2 aa ae a begs so to intimate to his friends and the public, that he has commenced Business in th COMMISSION LINE, and will attend punctually to aaiy Cum Scrofula, or King’s Evil, is a constitutional disease, a corruption of the blood, by which this fluid becomes vitiated, weak, and poor. Being in the circulation, it pervades the whole body, and may burst out in disease on any art of it. No organ is free from its attacks, nor is there one which it may not destroy. The scrofu- lous taint is variously caused by mercurial disease, low living, disordered or unhealthy food, impure air, filth and filthy habits, the depressing vices, and, above all, by the venereal infection. What- ever be its origin, it is hereditary in the constitu- tion, descending * from parents to children unto the third and fourth generation ;”" indeed, it seems to be the rod of Him who says, “I will visit the iniquities of the fathers upon their children.” Its effects commence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tuber- eles; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul corruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitutions not only suffer from scrofulous complaints, but they have far less power to withstand the attacks of other diseases; con- sequently, vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still ren- dered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which decimates the human family has its origin directly in this scrofulous contamina- tion; and many. destructive ftiseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organs, arise from or are aggravated by the same cause. One quarter of all our people are scfofulous ; their persons are invaded by this lurking infection, and their health is undermined by it. To cleanse it from the system we must renovate the blood by an alterative medicine, and invigorate it by healthy food and exercise, Such a medicine we SO ARS Compound Extract of Sarsaparilla, the most effectual remedy which the medical skill of our times can devise for this every where pre- vailing and fatal malady. It is combined from the most active remedials that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the blood, and the rescue of the system from its destructive consequences. Hence it should be employed for the cure of not only scrofula, but also those other affections which arise from it, such as Exvuptive and Sxin Diseases, Sr. Antuony’s Fine, Ross, or Enysipetas, Pimpxtes, Pustutes, Biorcues, Biarys and Bors, Tumors, Terrer and Sarr Ruevm, Scatp Heap, Rincworm, Ruevumartism, Sypuitic and Mercuriat Diseases, Dropsy, Dysrersia, Desruiry, and, indeed, att CompLAINTs ARISING FROM ViriATED oR Imruxe Bioop. The pular belief in ‘* impurity of the blood”’ is founded in truth, for scrofula is a degeneration of the blood. The particular purpose and virtue of this Sarsapa- ria is to purify and regencrate this vital fluid, without which sound health is impossible in con- taminated constitutions. Ayer’s Cathartic Pills, FOR ALL THE PURPOSES OF A FAMILY PHYSIC, are so composed that disease within the range of their action can rarely withstand or evade them. Their pen- etrating properties search, and cleanse, and invigorate every portién of the human organism, correcting its diseased action, and restoring its healthy vitalities. As a consequence of these properties, the invalid who is bowed down with pain or physical debility is astonished to find his health or energy restored by a remedy at % so <a = inviting. ot only do they cure the every-day complaints of every body, but also many formidable and ~ erous diseases. The agent below named is pleased to farnish gratis my American Almanac, containing certificates of their cures and directions for their use in the follow- ing complaints: Costiveness, Heartburn, Headac arising from disordered stomach, Nausea, Indigestion, Pain wn and Morbid Inaction of the Bowels, Flatulency, or arising from a Tow state of the Dody or Obstras=—— ion of its functions, Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral, FOR THE RAPID CUEKE OF Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Hoarseness, Croup, Bronchitis, Incipient Consumption, and for the relief of Consumptive Patients in ad- vanced stages 4f the disease. So wide is the field of its usefulness and so numerous are th® cases of its cures, that almost every section of country abounds in persons publicly known, who have been restored from 2latthing and even desperate dis- eases of the lungs by its use. When once tried, its superiority over every other medicine of its kind is too apparent ‘o escape obseryation, and where its virtues are known, the public no longer hesitate what antidote to employ for the distressing and dangerous affections of the pulmonary organs that are incident to our climate. While many inferior remedies thrust upon the community have failed and been discarded, this has gained friends by every trial, conferred benefits on the afflicted they can never forget, and produced cures too numerous and too remarkable to be forgotten.
