Looking back on action last week, Bernadine ll proved too much for a combined Day Student and Bernadine IV Softball team. Bernadine II jumped on the starting pitcher (who wished to remain anonymous at this time) for eight runs in the first inning and never looked back as they coasted to\an 8—3 win. Sue "Gatér aide" Clarke picked up the win for Second Floor. The Biddies (Bernadine — Day Students) despite recruiting Ontario native Mag Huising (an early out of the Toronto Blue Jays) for the game, couldn't get it together for the win. Lynn Schneider continued to toss the ball hard for the Biddies, but twice was caught oversliding second. In fact, Lynn was tagged out in left field after one of her slides. Rumour has it, for the next game, Lynn will be wearing metal cleats with a ball and chain attached to cut down on her slide. 0h well...Till then... I am sorrv to say that this league may become“another WFL: However, if only mOre students could-make their games the league could be successful. So, let's get those sweat pants, sweaty shirtsd stinky sneakers on, and get there this Friday.
