Gower MacLean. spent last week in Charlottetown, the guest of her grandfather, Mr. A. A. Mac- Lean, K. C. Miss MacLean spent n year in England and Wales and arrived last wed: in Canada with 2.000 other Canadians (chiefly children) in one of the ships convoyed by durin the greater part of her stay in Britain. The city in which she lived was bombed repeatedly dur- ing the summer, but very little damage was done. and only one fatal casualty resulted. During her stay abroad she vis- ited Itnly. Switzerland and France a few days before war was dc- clared. she visited Scotland on several occasions.
