How a Brooklyn Sacrament Service Is Protected From Thieves, It is generally accepted as a fact that the most expensive and elaborate taber- nacle for the services in this country is that belonging to St. Augustine’s church, Brooklyn. Formed entirely of gold and silver aud studded with pre- cious stones, it would prove a rich baal for the daring but sacrilegious marauder. This fact was fully appreciated by the church authorities, who have devised a plan of protection which is as near per- fect as can be. It is an clectric system, unique and effective, and now when the congregation arrives the tabernacle is in full view, but as soon as the congre- gation is dismissed the tabernacle dis- appears completely, apparently without bumau aid. Two great, heavy harveyized iron doors, which have been covered with gold leaf, roll forward at the press of an electric button and completely con- ceal and protect the costly chancel. These folding doors meet in a dome at the top to afford protection in that direc- tion. The imction of the doors is slow aud easy, special apparatus being de- vised for the ,urpose, the doors moving on heavy rolier bearings. The motion is imparted to them by means of a sys- tem of gears, actuated by an electric motor instailed directly beneath in the cellar. io order that noone should have access to the actuating push buttons these are placed in a regulation fire and burglar proof vault of massive construc- tion, the combination to which is known only to the rector and his asso- ciates. All the wires leaing to the mo- tor from the source of supply are con- nected at various points to the local po- _ and berglar alarm service, so that hould apy ope tamper with the wires Katiietetiam world Le given imimediate- ly. Dodd’s Dyspepsia Tablets to the Rescue— They Cure Sour Stomach or Acid Dy=pepsia and Thus Prevent Suicide in Many Cases, ————— “Ugh! I’ve been tortured by a sour stomach ever since dinner and it has made me utterly good for nothing,” grumbled the head of the family as he sat down with the evening paper after his day’s work. “ Papa, what does ‘ sour stomach ’ mean?” questioned his young heir, aged ten. “Don’t bother me!” irritably. growled his father “Let papa alone,” cautioned the wife and mother, who kaew what ‘papa’s” disposition was on occasions like this, when he was auftering from “sour stom- ach.” Now, if the father had known that the di ease which the doctors name Acid Dy-pepsia is bidden under the compara- tively harmiess name ‘sour stomach,” he would have taken means to check and cure it. To dothis he would, of course, have used Dodd’s Dyspepsia Tablets, for vo’ bing elee can cure it. Acid Dyspepsia is a dangerous steal for trom it springs mental depressicn, Which develops into the state known as “melancholia,” and which drives hun- dreds of persons tu suicide every year. Acid Dyspepsia is caused by food which the stomach cannot digest, remaining in the stomach, fermenting, then rotting, and creating poisonous gas. Doda’s Dyspepsia Tablets cure tie comvlaint by digesting the heavy mass of food, and stimulating the bowels tocurry cffibe poisonous matter that has been formed. Besides doing thie, Dodd’s Dyspepsia Tablets tone and strepgthen the stomach and enable it to carry on properly the work of digestion. They tr: the only remedy known that can do this, aud they never fai’. Dodd’s Dyspepsia Tablets are sold by all druggists at 50: a tox, six boxes $2.50, orsent, on receipt of pice, by the Dodd’s Medicine Co. Limited, Toronto, Ont. ‘1a which Bibles by side.
