MacNeili in his 79th Year. a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald MacNeill (nee Christine Da-rroch) He was in failing health for some time and a year ago retired from active work. During his last illness he was nursed by his niece, Katie Maclean of Boston, who had for. merly made her home with the MacNeiLi family, ‘Ihe late Mr. MacNeili was a 1118111)’ esteem - and successful farmer and in his day had taken a Prominent part in promoting com- munity welfare. his wife ,nee Emma MacCallum of Southport, died in 1904, and one son, Hector, in i915. There are left to mourn. two sons‘ Daniel and Kenneth, both of West River the latter being on the home- stead, three grandsons and one sister, Mrs. Angus Cameron of Clyde River. ‘The funeral which was held last Saturday afternoon, was one of the largest seen in that section or‘ the country. Rev. A.E. Todd, Baptist clergyman, conducted the services at the home and at the graveside in the Baptist Church cemetery at Clyde River. During the service at the home, Rev. Mr. Todd paid a high tribute to the character oi’ the late Mr. MacNeili. The familiar hymns, "The lord's My Shepherd," and "Near- er My God to Thee" were sung, and the beautiful solo "The Old Rugged Cross“ was feeiingly icndrcd by Mrs. Todd. wife of the officiating pail bearers were six nep- hews of the deceased.
