Boa'ron,Jsn. 6-Disappointed because the woman with whom he was lu love had decided ncttoenoourage his attentions any further, Bay C Johnson, of Burling- ton(V|.), swell dressed, flue appearing young man, aged twenty-one, was arrest- ed by the pollee shortly after unuuight, a self-confessed murderer. In I. lit of auger, Johnson fired four shots from a thirsy-eight calibre revolver at Hrs. Sadie Peters, a waitress in a Washington street restaurant, causing herlnstanl death. Johnson made no ai- lempt to escape, and when the police en- tered the room where the 'tragedy oscurrod they found the young lan sitting with his face in his hands, and repeating incessantly: “I done il, I done lt." Mrs. Peters, the victim of the tragedy, was a native of P. E. Island. She was twenty-four years of age, vory pretty and is said to have s husband living somewhere in Novo Searls. She was em- ployed as a waitress in n restnu rant at 1287 Washington street. She was the mother of two young children. The police claim that Johnston nod the Peters woman had been living together in Roxbury for more than a year, part of the time at 'I5 Circuit str set, and lately at H) Dana street. Today Mrs. Peters told Johnson that he eosld no longer put lp with existing eonditions, and that she had decided to leave him. 'Thereupon she went to the room of her friend, Jennie McLeod, n waitress in the same restaurant where she herself was employed, and told her that she shelntended to live there fora while. Early this evening Johnson went to Miss )(oLeod’s room at 1185 Washington stress, to ace Irs. Peters. He and the two women spent the evening in the par- lor conversing pleasantly. During the evening Johnsen dropped no hint that he contemplated any violence. Shortly before midnight Mrs. Peters l:>1dJohnson that be would have to ex- cuse her, as she was going to retire, and sulting hor action to the word, went up- stairs ie her room. Johnson, isis claimed, iuolsled upon following her. A few minutes later four revolver shots were hoard. When the lodgers ln the house rushed out of their rooms to see what was the matter, Johnson came staggering down the stairs, holding in each hand a smoking revolver of 88 calibre.
