MARCH 2, 1931 THE QEARIXTHTFOWN GUARDIAN PAGE FIVL NOTICE l We wish to advise our customers, that in the month of flinch, a change will be made in our billing routine. At the present time customers’ meters are read during the second and third week of each month. All bills are rendered and due the first day of the following month. This practice results in a large volume of work to be ac- gompiisiied during the latter part of the month. The new method, which will spread our work more evenly over the month, will involve continuous meter read- lng and billing throughout the month, thereby relieving periods of congestion. The territory will be divided into six districts, each district being billed at a different time of the month. Each customer will be billed only once a month, but instead of bills being rendered the first of each month they will be issued as follows: District No. 1—Bills will be rendered & due 5th of month District No. 2-Bills will be rendered & due 10th of month District No. 3-Bills will be rendered & due 15th of month District No. li-Bills will be rendered & due 20th of month District No. 5-Bills will be rendered & due 25th of month District No. 6—Bills will be rendered and due last day of month. Fifteen days will be allowed alter billing date before accounts are overdue. In so_me cases the first merit may cover a period greater or less than one month, depending 0n how if. new meter reading date compares with the previous one. Maritime Electric 00., Ltd. THOMAS ARTHUR SMITH In the evening of Wednesday, January 13th, Mrs. Thomas Arthur Smith, a very highly esteemed re- sidenl’. of Wood Islands North pass- ed peacefully away at the age of 5'! years. The deceased had been inacon- dition of failing health for ' two years so that the’coming of the end was in a way not unexpected. Through it all, though, her loved ones kept hoping that she might yet be restored to health and at times it looked' as though this might be possible. Even on the day of her death she was if any- thing somewhat brighter than us- ual and in the later evening she took a sudden tum for the worse. From this she never fully rallied and it was not long until her gen- tle spirit winged its heavenward flight. Besides a sorrowing husband Mrs. Sndth leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother, three sons and one daughter. The sons are Cyril, Elmer and Grover. and the daughter is Mrs. Duncan Gillis, all of Wood Islands north. Another daughter, Mrs. Wm. Smith, Belle River, passed away three years ago. The sur- viving members of the family are feeling their loss very "keenlyp The deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joliii Beaton, Wood Islands North, and was one of a family of only two members. one brother and one sis- ter. The brother is Mr. Angus Beaton, Wood Islands North. Mrs. Smith was a. woman of a somewhat retiring disposition and spent the greater part of her time in her own home. so that she was not as widely known as she might have been had she given more time to outside activities. Those who came to know her found in her a lady of sterling worth and she will be much d among her relatives and friends. This will be especially true 0d’ the inunedi- ate members of her own family, by whom she was much beloved. In e days to come her loved ones will no doubt often "Sigh for the touch of s vanish- ed hand" "And long for the sound of a whole oil group at higher prices. Royallle added 4 I-2 to close at 56.
