(nee Charlotte Barnard) were honored July 21, when friends and relatives assembled at their home at Burlington, to join with them in cerebrating the 25th anniversary of their marriage. Attending the door were their daughter. Irene and a niece, Miss Lois Btavert. During the evening the celebranta were escorted to the living room by Mrs. Robert. stavert to the strains of the Bridal chorus played by Mrs. Elmer Parsons. Mr. H. B. Macbeod, as master of cere- monies, in his jovial manner, con- gratulated the couple. Mr. Arthur Profitt read an address expressing the high regard of a family and friends for Halsey and Charlotte. On behalf of their children and grandchildren an end-table and silver bread tray were presented by their daughter, Irene. A chest of silver was the gift of the Bern- ard a.nd Profitt families and was presented by Mrs. James Cole. while a well-filled purse was pre- sented on behalf of friends and neighbors by Mr. Ellis Profitt. The recipients each replied brief- ly but adequately and all Joined in singing. "For They are Jolly Good Fellows." A social hour fol- lowed and Mrs, Parsons was the accompanist for a sing-song. Assisting in serving refreshments were Mrs. Oliver Profitt, Mrs. W. J. Profitt, Mrs. Arthur Profitt. Mrs. Robert Stavert, Mrs. Roy Clark, Mrs. Charles Cole. Attempting to remain anonymo while tending bar in a nearby town. his true identity is discovered by Girai-d's brothers and they threaten to expose him unless he aids in Frank's escape. Under the Girard boys orders, Verne, taps some telephone wires and learns that Frank is to be smuggled out of the Tombstone Jail in a hearse to prevent the irate citizenry from lynching him. The outliiws waylay the hearse kill the driver, wound Landry almost fat- ally and set Prankdree. Verne had also learned by his wire tapping that a big shipment of silver was due by stage.
