REPURT G ENERAL Field operations over the major part of the Dominion, except the Maritime Provinces and the Peace River country, have been retarded from one to two weeks owing to the inclement weather which fol- lowed the breakup of winter. There is 11 good reserve of moisture in most districts and prepurtlon of land and seeding are now under way. In the Prairies Provinces seeding is progressing favorably. While in the areas last year at‘- fecled by rust and frost a substan- tial proportion of inferior seed is being sown, the good seed bed con- ditions at present enhance the pos- sibility ~for normal growth. In Quebec the soil generally is in good condition, and pastures. meadows and fruit trees show no sign of winter kill, In Ontario land pre- puration :3 general and seeding has commenced.
