Verr Foster, of Belfast, has addressed a letter to Mr. Parnell, which is published in the ‘‘ Belfast Northern Whig.” Foster of- fers to donate 15,000 pounds to assist emi- gration from Donegal, Clare, Kerry, Cork and Connaught, to Canada and the West- ern States of America. JANUARY 21, The Queen vs. William McKinnon and others. William McKinnon, Michaelj Burns and Edward O'Neill were last evening ar- raigned for breaking into Beer & Sons store, and severally pieacied not guilty. Their trial was set down for Thursday. Mr. A. B. War- burton is retained to defend McKinnon. Mitchell vs. Bowers. The Court is stall oc- cupied with Mitchell’s suit against Bowers. Messrs. William C, DesBrisay, William Loch- head and Richard Heartz were examined as experts, and ali swore they believed the sig- nature to the note in question was genuine. No little amusement was caused in Court by two of these gentlemen stating that they did not think some signatures which were ad- mitted to be genuine, were the defendant’s signature; the most they would say was that the ‘*P” andthe “R” were something like his writing. The case will, probably, not be concluded until tomorrow. - : - The Winnipeg Free Fress say :—Early last summer one Swazie of Winnipeg, skipt- ed out to the States, leaving his wife and family behind. One day recently the second son, boy of 15 years, asked per- mission ef his mother to take three of his sisters fora drive. They started away and have not since returned, Enquiry revealed the two facts, that this son had been seen with money supposed to have been sent by the father, and that he and his sisters were seen at St. Boniface Station.
