Oct. 16th. by the minister, Rev. W.G. Dickson. The morning serv- ice was at Brae. The first after- noonservlce was at 2 p.m. in Bloomfield. The second afternoon service was at. West Devon at 3.3-.‘ pm. and the evening service was at O'Leary. The Minister said in part: "The British and Foreign Bible Society was founded in 1804. At that. time the Bible or some portion of it had been translated into ‘ll languages or dialects. By the blessing of God the Society can now offer the Scriptures or some portion of it in 1081 lang- uages. Within 145 years the Bibie Societies have increased the translations by seven new lang- uages every year of their history. It is a marvellous accomplish- ment. No university in the world has done anything cnntparaiile with this in the discovering. the analyzing. the recording of, and the invention of writing for new languages. The Bible Society exists to en- courage the translation of God's word- into every tongue spoken by any race or tribe in the world. 1r- ternational and ‘ lnterdenomina- tional. it. belongs to all churches As the awakened masses of the East emerge from the illiteracy, what kind 0f literature will they read?
