     Dates have now been set for 
     
     this year's Christmas Bird 
     
     Counts. The P. E. I. National 
     
     Park count will be held on 
     
     Saturday, December 15 and the 
     
     Hillsborough count will be on 
     
     December 22. In case of 
     
     postponement of either count 
     
     due to inclement weather, 
     
    

    
     the alternate date of Saturday, 
     
     December 29 has been chosen. 
     
     Following the National Park 
     
     Count a pot-luck supper will 
     
     be held at Ruth Ross' home on 
     
     57 Orlebar Street in Charlotte— 
     
     town. The location for the 
     
     Hillsborough after count 
     
     gathering will be announced 
     
     later. Last year we saw 28 
     
     species and 6101 individuals 
     
     on the Hillsborough Count and 
     
     36 species and 5227 individuals 
     
     on the Park Count. With a 
     
     little luck and effort, maybe 
     
     we can improve our totals this 
     
     year. Anyone interested in 
     
     participating should contact 
     
     Winnie Cairns at 894-4095 
     
     (weekends) or 838—4855 (week 
     
     day evenings). New counters 
     
     as well as experienced ones 
     
     are welcome. We also welcome 
     
     reports of sightings at bird 
     
     feeders on the day of the 
     
     count or during the period 
     
     three days before and after 
     
     the count date.
