Box 307 City the press. i would like to point out to you the glaring errors and utter falsehoods that ppear in Conservative advertising. They referred to our 1051 platform. No one knows better than 1 do that all we looked forward to has not been accomplished. We set for ourselves an ambitious program. Not all has been finished but at least a great step forward has been made. They refer to mir all season road across Kings County. That's not the way our platform read. This is the correct wording "An all-season ro ad across King's County to Wood lelanda will be gradually built as a counter- poise and complement to the Trans-Canada Highway and the western Road extended to Tig- nish and the 0'Leary Road ex- tended westerly." We all know that slightly more than one-half of the Trans Canada Highway has been built. What is the re- cord in King's County? The total distance is 64 miles. Of this I4 miles, 36 miles are now paved. & miles are subgxaded for pave- ment and the remaining six miles will be done this year. There is the truth. Why attempt to de- ceive the people? Has the once great Conservative party fallen on such bad times that they must re- reeon to such tactdes? 20-TON BRIDGE! In the same paragraph they mention 20-ton bridges. They say none can be found. is there any one so blind as one who w-ill not see? Here is the record. in the Public Works report of 1951 we find at page 3 that 27 new 1)- ton bridges were built. in the 1982 report of the same department we find at page 17 that 37 new 20-ton bridges were built. in the 1958 report at pages it and 15 Iihst 35 20-ton bridges were built. The 1954 report not yet published shows that 41 bridges were built., This is a total of 140 bridges all over the 7.0-ton limit. Now what are they trying in do? if they are deliberately trying to deceive you ' they are certainly not worthy of your support. if they are not do ing this deliberately they cannot or will not look up the trite facts. which is worse. deception or ignorance? Do you think sut-h deception or ignorance de- serves your support? Do you think it safe to entrust the affairs of this province to such a group? in the next paragraph they re- fer to education. I will let my col- league Ken Clark answer this paragraph. Keir Clark is the best minister of Education this prov- ince ever had. He is a young man of action and few words. I admire him for these qualities. Talk is easy and usually cheap but performance takes thought and outstanding ability. i feel confident that the electors iii the Cardigan District fully realise how important it is to them and to the province to elect Keir Clark SALE or VENDOME HOTEI The Vendome Hotel building, garage and lot (160 x 41) at 114 Kent St..
