MeNeill, Esq., coaxed the dollars from their receptacles while auctioning the cake. The ladies of the Convent gratefully acknowledge the ser- vices of those who so gracefully presided at the tables. They also tender their thanks to those who so kindly pasronized them on the occasion, among whom were represents ed the various religious denominations in the city. The proceedings terminated at 11 p.m., with the rendering of the National Anthem The amount realized was $381.67.
