PHINEE lllllllllll lHlil|ll An exceptionally novel and ln- :iiructive five-part feature was screen- ed at the Prince Edward yesterday entitled "Sport and Travel in Central Africa." This is the Clnemetograpli record of an expedition organized by The Pathe Company and headed by the famous African explorer, Captain Machiu, with his cameramen, guides rind sbarpsliooters. Starting from Marseilles and arriv- ing at Alexandria, Egypt, tive days later the party journey up the Nile River. The hunters first bagged a choice collection of alligators. Tra- velling inalnd they visit the spot made famous by Lord Kitchener and Cap- tain Marchand, visiting different vil- iages on the way to the hunting grounds. The life and habits of the various warlike tribes are shown. A rare specimen of monkey is captured who proves an amusing companion during the rest of the expedition. Leaving the villages beliilnd, the party plunge into the Jungle, where many fine pictures _were taken of the woiiderliifl birds and wild animals, leopards, lions, tigers, elephants and other wild creatures unknowingly pos- liig before llie camera. Many beauti- ful birds werc captured wliosc plum- age is fn great demand the world over to adorn feniinlne headgear,` This feature is exceptionally good and well worth sciiig. Two other features, "T|ie Things in the Bottom Drawer,” an appealing drama, and the irresistible Billie Ritchie, in it comedy scream, made up the balance of the programme. Some fifteen or twenty of them opened a window and entered the building taking therefrom a drum and the school bell and probably other less noisy instruments, and par- aded the streets for some time to the annoyance of many. This done they returned' to the school grounds, threw their musical instruments around, breaking the drum and coni- mittlng other excesess for which they rlclily deserve and- will no doubt rc- ceive severe punishment.
