motor boat races at Grand River
ferry on the 28th Inst., promises to be
a grand success. and the prizes are

this locality are very busy harvesting.
Good crops are reported. The many
friends of Mrs. James Dunning, of

says: Jaules Brown, 17 years old, of
Westboro, Mo., is dead and I-ldwaril
Griillth, 25 years old, of Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island, is in a serious
condition from bullet wounds receiv-
ed in a holdup on it train at Elk Point,
S. D. The men resisted the robbers
-“Spokesman Review,” Spokane,
Wash. Edward Griffith referred to
above is at son of J. A. Grillitli of tlilli
cliy, and is at present in the Sacred
Ileart Hospital, at Ynnkton, suffering
frolii bullet wounds in the spine and
lung. Brown, who was shot through
