Brosseau and Rene Larocque, will have charge of one company, while the other is commanded by Captain Leo I-Iudon, with Lieutenants George Vanier and J. S vestre. yl _ This addition to the men already in barracks will bring the total to about 700. The three hnudred more on the roll of the regiment here will follow as soon as arrangembnts for quartering them can be completed. Another 125 recruits from Quebec are expected to reach Montreal early next Week. and these will also proceed to St Johns. The 23rd and 24th Battalions are now over half recruited, according to the nearest available iigures. The 24th, Lieut.-Colonel Gunn’s, which is being recruited from the Victoria ,Rifles the 5th Royal Highlanders, the Irish Canadian Rangers, and the 53rd Regiment oi’ Sherbrooke, has approxi- mately 550 men. The 23rd. Lieut.-Col. Fishers Battalion, has some 275 men recruited in Hontresl from the Guards, the Westmount Rifles, and the McGill Battalion.
