"' " The Charlottetown Guardian has issued a souvenir edition, handsomely illustrated, on fine toned paper. ’1`he souvenir was intended to celebrate the-Confedera- tion jubilee, but the war broke out, and upset all plans. Our contemporary claims that Prince Edward Island was ti'ie'Cradle of Confederation, the first conference b`eing held in Charlottetown, which led to the consoli- dation of Canada. In view of the excellence of the souvenir, wc will not dispute the claim of P. E. I. ----+l-- » 'THE WESLEYAN. A I The Charlottetown Guardian, with commendable enterprise, has published a spec' l Souvenir Edition, issued as a Supplement, to celebrate the Jubilee of Confederation, it being remembered that the confer- cncc which resulted in Coiifede_ration was held in Cliarlottetown. This fine Souveni number is eiititled “Prince Iid- ward_Island, 'I`lie Garden of the Gulf, Its Men of Action and Its Resources.” It is profusely illustrat- ed, contaiiiing more than two-liuiidred good photo- cuts of the leading inen and women of the Island, bc- sidcs cuts of thc principal public buildings and many private editices. Its descriptions of localities, resources and industries are most interesting and instructive. Altogether thc souvenir refiects great credit on the publishers of The Charlottetown Guar- dian and should prove of value in advertising this beautiful and fruitful Island, so wortliily bearing the name and fame of “Tlie Garden of the Gulf.” §`-'_ " ----l»--- PETERBBOROUGH EVENING REVIEW. _ We have received a copy of a special souvenir number of the Cliarlottetown Guardian.
