Few people lace their shoes correctly. About the nearest anybedy gets to it, 1s to lace as tightly as possible. The correct way is to put your foot as much as pos- sible in the heel of your shoe, when you are about to lace it. The best way to do this, is to rest the heel of your shoe on a chair standing in front of you. Over the instep it should he laced as tightly as pessible; this will hold your foot back in the shoe, give your toes free- iom, and prevent their being cramped.
