Jimmie Flood has Just returned from an extended visit to, his son-In-law and daughter, Joe and Mrs. O'Brien, and looks in the pink of condition after his splen- did holldsy. He was present at the racing in Goshen where Joe was injured. Joe was going away at the rail with Meadow Pace and as they turned into the back strech the horse made a ruffle and Joe started to take him back and all of a sudden he went 'down and the sulky of the horse behind struck Joe, breaking one rib and causing injury to others. In addition he suffered a con- cussion from his head striking the track. In less than five min- vutes the ambulance was whisking him away to hospital. The next day Joe appeared swathed in 1 '- bandages and it was evident that .ha was using a great deal of will ..power to drive. He won with Mighty Sun but had to retire , and did not drive for a few days. Now he is right back on his feet ,again and has been pulling some .. great races literally out of the fire.
