Provinces To Be Given Control OI Beer Sales OTTAWA, March i3 —(CP) — Prime Minister Mackenzie King announced today In the Commons that the federal government has decided to llft the restriction upon the supply of beer which may be released for sale to the Provinces. Mr. King said that the lifting of the restrictions would become ef- fective immediately and that hereafter the distribution and sale of beer will be the exclusive con- oi’ the provinces themselves. Mr King said that Dec. 16. 194B, the Federal Government lim- ited tho quantity of spirits, wine and beer to be released for sale in the period from Nov. 1, i042. to Oct. 31, 1943. to T0, 80 and 90 per cent respectively of the quantity released in thu previous 12 months.
