My best wishes for the nest of everything in the New Year to all. James A. MacDonald, (Mail-courier) Cardigan, RE. I. IN MEMORIAM AUSTIN’ CAMERON In the midst of life we are in death. These words were never more applicably spoken than on Friday afternoon, Dec. 6th, when it became known that Mr. Aus- tin Cameron of Augustine Cove had passed to his eternal re- ward. His passing was a great shock to the community and es- v pecially to his family. Although never very robust, Mr. Cameron had just come through an operation in the Prince County Hospital about a month previously, and had made I. good recovery. On the above afternoon he was around as us- ual and had gone to the barn to do some small chores. He had been in the habit of attending to. His wife thinking he was out longer than usual, asked his grandson to find out if anything had happened. Mr. Cameron had already passed away presumably soon after arriving in the barn. Dr, MacDonald from Crapaud, was called but nothing ‘could be done. Mr. Cameron was born in Aug- ustine Cove 74 years ago. He was a son of the late G. W,» W. Cameron and his wife Sarah Clark. In early life he attended U.C.C. in Charlottetown but shor- tly afterwards he returned to his (home farm to work. He was a very conscientious man in every-thing he said or did, and honesty and neatness, ‘ were truly his attributes. For many years he was secretary of the Tryon Peoples Cemetery and -will be greatly missed by the men with whom he worked. Forty-nine years ago he mar- ried Annie Clark Muttart, young- est ‘daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eliphalet Muttart of Tryon. This union was blessed with one daughter, Marie, Mrs. Donald J. _MacDonald with whom Mr. and Mrs. Cameron resided. During his latter years, he was an extensive reader and was well qualified to talk interestingly on any subject. . He leaves to mourn besides ‘his sorrowing widow his daugh- ter and son-in-law two grandsons Elmer and Earle MacDonald, whom he dearly loved. One bro- ther Artemas of Augustine Cove and later of_,Cascumpec, and one sister Mary, Mrs. Major Carruthers‘ predeceased him. His funeral which was very largely -attended despite the al- most impassible condition of the road: was held from his late residence on Monday afternoon, December 9th. The service was conducted by the Rev. E.H. Bean of Kenslng- ton, assisted by Miss Mary A. MacKenzie. Deaconess of North Boarders Aooommodated ROOM AND BOARD FOR PEN- sioner.
