McLure enlisted wi-th the Royal Canadians during the early days of the war and has followed (he fortunes of that Regiment ever since, being one of the very few original members still at the front. Left Char- lottetown for Valcartiel' August 'Z0th, 1914. Crossed to England October, 1914. Crossed to France Feb. 12, 1915. Fought at Langemark and several other battles of that years. In June 1916`was wounded and after two weeks in hospital returned to duty. On June 5th, 1916, he was again wounded, this time severely in the arm. and was sent to England. In March 1917 he again crossed over to France’ fought at Vimy Ridge and on pound fracture of the loft leg. After remaining in a Hospital in England till Dec. 31st, 1917. he sailed for Canada arriving home January 14th’ 1918. CORP. GORDON CAIRN8, 8 Mach- ine Gun Co., B. E.
