Edmonds, Summerville, we save a striking example of El grand old Christian lady who has gone forth to reap the fruits of a long life of service. During her illness she was frequently visited by her devoted pastor, Rev. P. D. McGulgan, who administered to her tho last rites of the Catholic Church. Deceased was always of a happy and cheerful disposition and will no doubt be greatly missed by her many friends. whom she was_cvel' ready to assist in time of trouble and affliction. She leaves to mourn a grief stricken husband. The appreciation of a noble woman was evidenced by the large funeral cortege which accom- panied her remains to St. Joachins Church on May 23rd. After the final absolutions were glvcn, her re- mains were laid to rest beside those of her two children who predeceas- ed her some years ago. As all know Thursday was the Queen's birthday and although the day was somewhat cold a large number of our friends were out en- joying themselves. The Queen's birthday as a Canadian spring holiday comes to us when "tlr: year's at the spring" and a verit- able spring it is taking this year. The day on which we greet the un- folded leaves and blossoms is like u giirlandcd gate way through which we pass to the glories of summer. Splendid as our winter is, it docs not preclude as it begins to fall o longing for the green of the tree; and fields. To the city dweller especially, is the spring holiday a bcoli. The call comes to him as 1t came to people from the early days of the world. "It is in season now to go About the country high and low. Among the lilacs hand ln hand. And two by two in falryland." -- --<oo>- .... __ Finger nail polish will serve to renovate any dull scratched pearl buttons. IYESIIIIIT lXlllllllTlllIl Flttlnl and supplying gluon. etc. H. J. In other sections of Eastern Prince County the roads‘ l have not been touched this year by the wonder working Department of |Public Works, and as bad as they §arc. they are better than the $00.00’) projects of the Saunders Govern- ‘ment. j r-ANOTHER MAY SHOWER ‘lFOR.
