Re- peat breeding, with many infect- ed females returning to heat twenty-seven or more days after service, is a common sign of the disease in cows. The purchase of adult cows or bulls is a potential hazard in re- jgard to the possible introduction \of Vibriosis into a herd, warns lthe Canadian Veterinary Medi- ‘eal Association. Sexually mature ‘animals appear to develop resis- 'tance to infection by this disease causing organism. Mature animals which are in- troduced from outside herds should not be allowed to mate naturally in the herd unless a Veterinarian has examined them for venerial infection. If ‘semen is is used from carrier bulls or those of unknown fibrio status, it should be treated with anti- biotics under‘ veterinary supervis- ion, the Association said.
