Charlottetown has been the scene of many memorable celebrations, but certainly none which ‘has been carried out more successfully, or on such an ainbitious scale, as this week's comme- moration ot the 75th anniversary of the historic Confederation Conference. Not only are all our citizens and visitors in agreement on this point, but the Province, as a result, has received more ity from coast to coast than on n, not excepting the Royal Visit in which, naturally, we shared the spotlight with other provinces. This week's was unique in the hist were no other outsiandin the interest with which it was followed, and the significance of the anniversary was brought home to all our fellow-Canadians. V With regard to one of the ieatures—the fine historic pageant staged on the opening evening of the celebraiion—there has been general con- ' currerice in the suggestion of Mr. J. R. Mac- Nicliol, M. P., of Toronto. that it should be nted right across Canada as an inspiration onal unity and patriotic sentiment. Among those so expressing themselves have been Hon. . T. A. Crerar, Minister of National» Resources in the Dominion Government, Bracken, Premier of Manitoba, while equally favorable comments have been sley, Minister of National Revenue, and Hon. J‘. W. Estey of Saskatoon, Attorney- General and Minister of Education for Sask- Itchewari. Contributing much to the ‘success of the 1 ' week's celebration was the presence here of these and other distinguished parliamentarians, as well as the Army and Navy units, the U.
