(GP) -- Canadian National Railways today reported net operating rev:-nue pf 3550.000 for August this year compared with s2.989.000 for August, 1953. For the eight-month period ended August 31, 1954, not operating rev- enue was reported at 56,217,000 compared with s20.086,000 for the corresponding period last year. Last month, a. CNR. statement said the company would have an i over-all deficit for the year. Operating expenses for August this year decreased to 353,432,000 from 356,958,000 for August, 1953, but operating revenue decreased to 853,982,000 from s59;94'l,00O. The Canadian Pacific Railway Tuesday reported net earnings for August at ti,94l.82B compared with 31,980,001 for August, 1953.
