Dr. Douglas to try a change of climate for the beneiit of his health started on Saturday last taking with him Mrs. Carew and youngest daughter. They purpose going to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where they intend spending some weeks. Their many friends wish Mr. and Mrs. Carew, a very pleasant trip and hope when they return at a later date to find him much improved physically. ~ THE semi-annual examination of Free- town school took placeon Monrhy last. There was a. fair attendance of parents and yisitors. That this schoolhas made mark- ed progress during the past year was clear- ly evidenced in the creditable' manner in which the scholars acquitted themselves. Messrs. YVm. McMillan and Percy Schur- man conducted the examination. The success of the pupils is highly creditable to the teacher Mr. D. P. Croken who has been most painstaking and eflicient in the discharge of his duty. At the conclusion of the examination, Messrs.
