Davies on the “‘Issue of the Day.” Both political Hall this evening to hear L. parties appeared to be equally represented and a few ladies graced the assembly with their presence. Scotia, presided and introduced the speak- er in a highly laudatory speech, in which he aired somewhat his political views. An address of welcome was then read by the Secretary of the Westmoreland Liberal Association, and presented by the Chair- man. Sullivan Matched, Boston, Feb. 19. A match was arranged to-day between John L. Sullivan and Jem Smith. The fight is to be with very soft kid gloves, and will probably take place in Ireland within six months. Dead Bodics Found. SavANNAB, Feb. 19. Ths dead bodies of two negroes were found tied to the foot of a sapling in the woods near this city this morning. They are thonght to be brothers of John Gra- ham, a crezy negro, who, it is believed, killed them as a sacrifice. Breach of Promise Suit. Los Anoetos, Cal., Feb. 30. In tha breach of promise suit, brought by Louis E. Perkins against E. J. Bald- win, the California millionaire, for $500,000 damages, the jury to-day brought in a ver- dict in favor of the plaintiff for $75,000. Washed Ashore New York, Feb. 19. Wreckage froma large unknown vessel has been washed ashore at Cape Dilas Perriss, in the Bay of Biscay. The bodies of a map and women, richly attired, have been found on the beach.
