Robert Scout, assistant dir- ector of Old Age Pensicns for the Province of New Brunswick, has been visiting Prince Edward Is- land for the past few days and leaves today on return to Fred- ericton. Here to study the operation of the Old Age Pensions Act in this Province. Mr. Scott reports that his trip has been very pleasant and helpful. Old age pensions were introduced in New Brunswick in July, 1936, since which time Mr. Scott has filled the position of assistant dir- ector. He previously assisted 1n the survey made by the province be- fore the Act was introduced. About 11.300 old. use pensions are being paid in New Brunswick, the aver. ace payment being $14 per month. In addition. pensions are being paid to about. 400 blind persons. Mi". Scott 1s a United Church clergyman.
