Russel Cruik- shank. retired Royal Bank of Canada manager. and to make a presentation in appreciation of his fifteen years of faithful and cour- teous service here. Mr. Frank Curtis, who acted as master of ceremonies. explained very briefly the reason for the informal gathering and expressed his great pleasure at seeing so many present. Mr. Curtis then called upon Mr. Justice G. J. Tweedy to read the address and Mr. Gordon Avard to make the presentation. "One of the great advantages of being retired in the prime of life is that it gives your friends an opportunity to express their feelings of appreciation and grat- itude while you' are still posses- sed of the faculties to understand and enjoy such expressions." the address stated. It recalled the varied positions held by Mr. Crulckshank in the service of the Royal 'Bank of Canada. which he entered in 1912. rul- minating with his appointment as ansger st Charlottetown in 1939. ”It is such men as you who made the Banks of Canada the bulwark of strength and efficiency they now are." Page 5” Railway Plans Considered By Montague Trade Boards 1 ..'The King's County Board of Trade and the Montague Junior Board of Trade held a combined meeting last evening at the Bison Restaurant to discuss the C.N.R. application to discontinue pas- senger services from April to December. The meeting was preceded by a delicious chicken dinner in the rainbow room at which Mr. R. K. Clements. president of the King's County Board. presided. Present also was Mayor Bruce H. Yeo. representing the town of Montague. Mr. Clements also pre- sided over the discussion meet- ing considering the C.N.R. brief which was read by the chair- man.
