At Montreal MONTREAL, May 17—(CP)—In- dustrial trading continued in a quiet vein_on the Montreal stock exchange and curb market today as trends were indefinite. Mines tailed to establish any definite groove as trading remained light. Industrial sales were approxi- mately the same as yesterday with n turnover of 25.800 shares. Mines totalled only 63,700 shares as com- pared with 85300 shares for the previous session. Closing averages revealed banks off .03 at 27.71; utilities up -.2 at 72.5; industrials up .2 at 119.6; pa- pers off 1.08 at 289.73 and golds were down .61 at 64.85.
