(From yesterday’s Evening Guardian)
The death occurred at the Charlot-
tetown Hospital last night of Mrs.
Kiggins wife of Deputy Sheriil Bern-
ard Kigglus after s. painful illness of
some months. The late Mrs. Klggins
was an estimable woman and n de-
voted mother, and her death is sin-
cerely mourned by a wide circle of
relatives and friends. She leaves to
mourn besides her husband the fol-
lowing sons all of whom were pres-
ent during her last illness:-»Peter
Pictou; William and Frank, Chariot-
tetown; Stephen, Ottawa: Thorras.
Western Canada; John, Alexander,
Ont.; James Chnrlottetown;’Joseph
Winnipeg, and two daughters Miss
Alice and Miss Angelina at home. all
of \vbom will have the deepest sym-
pathy in their sad affliction.

advanced age of 82 years. The late
Mr. Ooady was a kind friend to all
and during his illness received much
loving kindness from appreciative
friends and relatives. Deceased was
a true Christian and was fortiiled
for death by the Holy Rites of his
church and passed peacefully away tq
he with his dear ones who had gone
before. Besides a devoted wife, he
leaves to mourn their irreparable
loss two daughters, Miss Lucy at L.
J. Reddins, and Miss Emma at
home, also one sister Mrs. A. J.
Dougan, Charlottetown, and one
brother John in Newton, Mass., to
whom is extended the sincere sympa-
thy oi a large circle of friends. The
funeral takes place Sunday afternoon
nt 2.45 to St. Duustan’s Pro-Cathe-
dral thence to R. C. Cemetery.
MOORS FI-RE ON STEAMER.
GIBRALTAR, Dec, 26-The British
steamer Ludgate is ashore at Sainor
Point. The Moors opened fire on the
.tugs sent to their assistance and one
sailored was wounded. l‘he tugs were
iunable to reach,ths steamer and tue
latter's crew dare not venture on
deck. Warships will be sent to shell
.the Moorish positions but it is fear-
ed the natives may board the steam-
er and kill the crew before help ar-
rives.
