The Star’s cable from London says that Great Britain's acceptance of Sir John Thompson as one of the British Arbi- trators in connection with the Behring Sea arbitration gives satisfaction. An eminent jurist will be chosen as another British arbitrator, while an eminent advocate, probably a member of the British Gevern- ment, will be selected as the British advo- cate. Orrawa, June 2. Hon. Mr. Tupper has been nominated by the Imperial authorities as their agent to prepare the British case before the Behring Sea arbicration. Herring and mackere} are reported struck off at Liver- pool. Haddock fair at Lockport, Lunenburg, and a few at Port Latour. Haddock fair at Digby and light catches of halibut and hake at Leckport. Gaspereaux fair at Port Latour and Liverpool and a few at Port Medway. Also a few salmon at Port Med- way and Canso,C. B. Cod fair at Arichat, Ingonish, Cheticamp and Mabou; but light at St. Peters and Louisburg. Mackerel fair at Louisburg and a few at St. Peters and [ngonish, while at Peiit Degrat some netters had 200 per man.
