JAMES LAWN TEA g Kirk House Garden x TI-IURSDAY-4-6 t Local-Firm guilds Portable Electric- Arc Welding Plant Messrs Proud st Moreside. wsli- l known blacksmithing and welding firm o1’ this city, have just com- pleted a portable electric welding plant which can be quickly brought to the scene of the work - to be done anywhere in the prov- ince. This new equipment has been built into a light express truck, and consists mainly of a high 1 powered six cylinder engine» mounted in line with, and attach- l ed to a large generator. The gen- i erator is one of the very latest i Hobat 1938 models, and is cap-f able of taking care of all forms of electric arc welding. A special “tliin-weld“ attach- ment is also included in the equip- ment thus providing" for the weld- ing of all varieties of thin OIDJOCIS such as light boiler plate, sheet iron. etc., etc. All welding done is. l of course, bucked by the usual i guarantee. i Proud d; Moresidc are to be i complimented on this enterprise since it will mean much to all who l at any time may require the serv- , ices of a really up-to-date electric welding plant. The great advant-l age of a portable plant of this‘ kind is that it can be taken right to the job. This means a huge sav- i ing in time and expense where the object to be welded is too heavy to be easily handled or shipped, and when it is difficult to remove the parts to be welded. Likewise. when machinery breaks clown on s. job and is needed in a hurry, the l welding can be quickly and thor- oughly attended to simply by tele- phoning to this progressive firm. Their phone number is 8l3-J. ‘ Persons interested in mechanics or in the success of local enterprise ‘ are tvelcome to call and inspect this new “plant on wheels." the latest. accomplishment of Proud &: Mnreside. at 223 Great George Street, Charlottetown. Break Window And Make Off With llrygoods Early yesterday morning, a large plate glass sho window in Prowse Bros. dry goo store on Queen Street was smashed by a chunk oil concrete and the entire display of merchandise stolen. Estimated value l of goods stolen which include a suit. a shirt and pair of flannel trous- ers, was $50. The thieves apparently were in no hurry, for they took time to strip a dummy on which clothing had been displayed. No one reportrd hearing the crash as the glass was broken. and a pedestrian reported the break to police about five o'clock yester- day morning. Entry into the main part of the store was prevented by a packing box which was braced against the door leading from the store to the show window. This is the second break of this nature this week. Monday the g'ass in V. Dennis’ meat and grocery os-tablislllnent, Prince Street was broken. but nothing was reported stolen.
