Winter Carnival '77 will be held the 2nd week of February the main events will be held on the 9,10, 11, 12. This year's theme is 'The Pink Panther" Strikes Again'! There will be a snow sculpture contest (if there is enough snow) to be judged on Saturday the 12th so all contestants should start their master— pieces preceding weekend (Feb.5,6). More infor— mation on snow sculpture contest can be obtained from Claire Currie or Betty Brown (Bernadine Hall) on Feb. 6 there . will be a good movie to start off winter carnival week. Monday there will be a psych— up pub from 7-11 pm in the Panther Lounge in the Barn. On Tuesday our Panther Basketball team will-reply to a challenge issued by the UPEI 'Shorts" ( all- members being 5'6 or under) at the Alumni gymnasium — time to be announced. Following this there will be an inter~residence party in the Barn. Wednesday is Beatles Day starting with 'Graffiti Night' in the cafeteria 4:30 —7:OO featuring 'Best Greaser Award', 'Hot Dog Eating" Contest'. 'Inter— Resi— dence Awards', and other. goodies. The hockey Panthers will host U. de Moncton Blue Eagles at the forum at 7:00 PM. A Disco 'Button Pub' 9-12z30 will follow the game-people with Winter Carnival buttons will: be admitted free (buttons will be sold at the door for SOC—which is also the price of admission so 'BUY A BUTTON!). Buttons will be on sale beginning Sunday Feb.6th throughout Winter Carnival. Thursday afternoon from 2—4:30 there is a pub in the Barn featuring a Talent Show in which any- one may participate with prized awarded. There will be dance in the gym Thursday night from 8:30 I to 1:00 AM followed by a suicide skate in the rink. Friday afternoon features many different events— at the pub in the gym 2—4:30 there will be chugging contests, arm wrestling, a fashion show with the male sex as models (anyone wishing to be in— volved contact Mike McMahon in Marion #314). A scavenger hunt begins at 10 AM with prizes awarded to the best, participant. State of Mind (formerly, 'Time, Space, Continued') will entertain us from 8:30— 1:00 Friday night. All night movies are still a possibility. _ Saturday will begin with a Bromo Brunch for all th those suffering from the night before (further details to be announced). The annual car rally will start at 10 AM ( if interested contact John— Paul MacAntyre at the Control Room in the gym Monday and Wednesday afternoons). Thanks to the efforts of our ad— vertising committee headed by Jim.Picone we have some really great prizes for all our events. Various games such as bridge, chess, checkers, etc. will be played dur—' ing Carnival week and death-race '77 ( a chugging race around campus) will also be held- these events are to be scheduled. Satur- day afternoon a pub will be held in the Barn. Carnival Ball will start at 9 PM saturday night at the Confederation Centre with Standing Room Only. The efforts of the Coronation Com— mittee headed by Deborah MacDonald and Gail Murphy will climax with the crowning of the Queen during the ball. Sunday at 1PM the Luckey Panthers will paly Dalhousie Tigerettes and at 3 PM the Panthers will take on the Tigers.
