Strong local com- mittees have been appointed and cverylhing now points to a most suc- cessful time. “’l‘lie boy is worth while."-X. -SCHOOL lNSPECT|0N.- Marin Gallant school inspector of the French Acadian Schools, was visiting Cape Egmont school on the 10th inst., and at Mt. Carmel school on the 11th lnst., -then proceeding to St. Nicholes, Mr. Gallant found marked progress in the former school, especially in some particular branches of studies. The standard of Mt. Carmel school was satisfactory, writing was found to be a great degree of perfection, arithme- tic wus found in great standing in the intermediate department. Mr. Gallant has already paid three visits to this school a fact which shows to what an extent education is being fostered and promoted since the uccesion of our present Superintendent as the head of the hoard of education.-R. The subject was. ilcsolved that a man having a big horse could advantageously put him away for n team of lilliit horses whose weight would equal the weight of the big horse. Good arguments were offer- ed on both sides but the majority was in favor of the negative. A special feature of the meeting was a lecture given by Mr. Stephen H. Arsenault, who spoke on the attitude of parents towards their children and vice versa. Mr. Arsenault gave good admnnltions and received the unanimous vote of _thanks of the meeting. Mr. Joseph P. Dr Fullerton, it is my painful duty to inform you Of the death of your son, which too place at the North Sydney Hospital at 1 p.m. to-day. He was apparently in his usual good health until Friday night, when he complained of chills. I-ie went to bed and passed u quiet night. But on my rounds in the morning I found that he was sicker than wus nt first sus- pected. l at once telephoned i'or a medical officer, who ordered his re- moval to the hospital, which instruc- tions were immediately complleil with. Everything possible was done. by both the medical officers and the nurses in the hospital. Shortly after he enter- ed i.he hospital he became pneonsclous and remained that way until the end.
