The Legion were most fortunate in securing Miss Betty Klnch and Mr. Frank Harper as supervisors for the games and other group activities carried out along the sandy beaches. Mrs. Harry Cudmore, Director of Red Cross Swimming and Water safely, and Miss Mary Ramsay tested the different classes in their swimming and water safety Skills on Wednesday, August 16th. Mr. Claude Kinch presented the Red Cross swimming and water safety awards to the successful young people during a film show in the Legion Hall the same eve- ning. Miss Iphigenie Arsenault, Red Cross Commissioner, addressed the large audience on Red Cross acti- vities. She complimented Mr. Kinch and the other Legion mem- bers very highly on the excellent youth program that they had car- ried out so well this summer. Mr. Kinch replied that this was made possible by the generosity and co-operation of the residents of Tignish.
