FREDERICTON, March 5-The committee on agriculture met this morning. W. B. Dickson presided. Hon. Dr. Landry on behalf of the special committee appointed to frame a bill to provide legislation for the stamping out and checking of cattle tuberculosis in the province, as well as to provide means by which the municipalities would be given the power to inspect milk brought in from outside counties, said that the committee had adopted a resolution which he presented to the meeting which was, in substance, that the matter of legislnting, as far as the question of tuberculosis was concern- ed, should be left. over until next ses- sion oi the legislature, and that in the meantime the department should use every means in ascertaining what form of law should be placed on the statute books. - Regarding tho question of the in- spection of milk, Dr. Landry present- ed an act. This act recommends an amendment of the Public Health Act, and gives ouch local Biard of Health in any part ol bbc province the power of inspection of any milk brought in from any outside district in the pro- vlnce. A committee consisting of Dr. Lan- dry, Secretsry Doggett and Mr. Dick- son. Kings, were appointed to pro- vide work to be considered by the committee on agriculture ~at future meetings. A resolution was also passed giv- ing the Department of Agriculture power to' ‘employ a qualified veter- inary surgeon to examine dairy herds suspected of being ailected with tu- berculosis.
