Chipman, of St. N, B.. and Judge Downes, of Calais, Me., bad an interview with the Minister of Customs Saturday, with respect to the seizure some time ago of the Penubscot and Calais Rail- way, for violation of the Customs laws. They produced sworn te stimony to show that in ten years total duty on material not entered at the Custom House would not exceed thirty dollars and that the seizure was malicious and groundless. Hon. Mr. Bowell was thoroughly satisfied with the case made out and released the road. Passed at Sea. (QUEENSTOWN, April 14. The Canard Steamer Etruria, which sailed from Liverpool yesterday for New York, reports having passed the Guion steamer Wisconsin returning to Liverpool.
