A letter from Mrs. McAus- land regarding Missionary slides which are now available was read 1t was suggested that an evening meeting be held in conjunction with the Evening Auxiliary where these slides could be used. The treasurer reported an increase in funds over lest year ior the three-quarter year period. The devotional period was in charge of Mrs. Hammond John- son, with "Thanksgiving" as the theme. Suitable hymns and prey- ers were used. Readings were giv- en by Mrs waiter C. Lidstone and Mrs. Hurry Simmons; a solo by ' Nirs. Anderson was very much ap- preciated. - The thank-offering was received and dedicated and amounted to - over $200.00. The Study Book program was in charge of Mrs. Johnson. As n result of the overcrowded conditions of the jail caused by twenty prisoners from Charlottetown being tempor- arily housed there, Gallant wus sleeping near the coal chute and made his escape that way. Police learned that he was trying to hire a taxi and they checked-all the taxi stands end found him at one cf them.
