Game 8:l5' Admission zoo and 400 ” Skate After Game A very happy event was observed in Montreal on Jan. 28th, when Mr. and Airs. Peter A. McMahon. formerly of Emerald Junction, cel- ebrated their fiftieth wedding an- nivcrsary. In the morning at Loyola Col- lege, holy Mass Qvas celebrated by Rev. Joseph P. Monaghan. S.J., brother of Mrs. McMahon, and 9. special blessing was imparted to the happy couple. During the Mag, appropriate hymns were sung by their daughter Ann agid their son Pope, with Mrs. Regin id Murphy at the organ. The family then returned to the home of their son. Jolm, which was gaily decorated for the occas- ion with daffodils. tulips andsnap- dragons. The table was decorated quite simply with silver. and was centered with a wedding cake. Following the dinner, Fr. Mon- aghan recalled the happy events of that day fifty years ago and then proposed a toast to the happy couple. which was responded to in a few well chosen words by Mr. McMahon. An address was then read to them by their son, Pope, and a gnld-colored puff and well-filled purse were presented to them by their daughter Mary (Mrs. W. Connick) on behalf of the family. That evening, many friends gathered to congratulate them and wish them future happiness, and to present them with many valu- able gifts. The remainder of the evening was spent in singing and dancing and was brought to a close with the singing of "For They Are Jollv Good Fellows”. Mrs. Walter Cnnnlck and Mr. Pope McMahon. Kinkcra, were in Montreal for the celebration of their parents' fiftieth wedding an- niversary. The Address 1902 - 1952 Rejoice! Rejoice! It is a Jubilee! O O 0 Thus heralds proclaimed great occasions of Joy among the early Christians. These same words echo the sentiments of us who have gathered to join with you. Mom and Dad, sharing the joy of your golden chain of wedded years. Most of us are inclined on an- niversaries to look back and scan the road travelled ihus far. Fifty Years ago, you were the blushing bride and proud groom setting out together on the way of love and sacrifice with the solemn words of the marriage cert-rnony reminding you that it was. for bcitcr or for worsc. for richer or poorer. in sick- anhritis, rheumatism, sciatica.iumbagoIncas and in health, until death does us part. As the way wound on, you can look back upon many joys and happy memories that are particu- larly your own. Even in the clouds of the trials and difficulties that you met along the way-for no lives are without some-you must hove found the silver lining as you rode through them together. Today as you reach the mile- sloneroi fifty years your happiness must be even greater than it was on that blissful day. for you share CI-IARLOTTETOWN Golden Wedding In Montreal btllilio Roger rhoto.
