Peter was a life long resident late William Holland and lsarah Hayes. He carried on farming on a large scale on the old’ home- stead while his physical ability Was equal to the task, he posses- s_ed the most ideal dairy farm in this part of the country and he utilized it to the best advantage. Although his farming activities pressed heavily on his‘ time, he always was willing to spare a suf- ficient amount of it to promote anything that he felt was in the interest of the community. He was . especially interested in the East , River Dairying Co being a past president and a life long patron as well as serving in an advis- ary capacity. ‘ . He also took a leading part in the advancement of the C.M.B.A. going to central Canada as a re- presentative of Fort Augustus par- ish. Peter was never missing if he felt his presence would en- hance the possibility of organiz- ing and bringing to fruition any- thing that would be in the inter- est of his fellowman. No one had to talk long to him before they discovered that he possessed the fine virtues that go to make a good "citizen. A strict observer of the laws of God and man, pure of soul and light of heart, his favourite past- time was sports and good reading. In his youthful days he was found on numerous occasions on the baseball diamond, as an athl- ete in the above mentioned sport he stood in the shadow of no oth- er participant. He leaves to mour-n, one sister, Mrs. Robert Dooley, Roxbury, Mass., many nieces and nephews. Four brothers and three sisters predeceased him. His younger brother, Vincent, made the su- 19 preme sacrifice in World War I.
